Sal, one of my regulars from Old Man Tuesday, he came back today. Not for a cut. He brought his grandson, maybe 20 years old. Kid had long hair, headphones, looked like he didnt want to be here. Sal said, Vinnie, make him look respectable. The kid rolled his eyes. But he sat in the chair. I gave him a clean, classic cut. Not too short. Showed him how to style it with a little pomade. He looked in the mirror. He didnt smile, but he... nodded. He looked different. Sal just winked at me. Passing down tradition. Thats the job now.
