The return flight. San Diego back to Chicago. Easy, right? Nope. We had a passenger with a medical emergency (a severe allergic reaction) mid-flight. We had to divert to Denver. You dont panic. You just *execute*. You follow the checklist. You coordinate with ATC (Air Traffic Control), you talk to the medics on the ground, you get the plane down. *Fast* and *safe*. We landed in Denver, the passenger was met by paramedics. We refueled and continued to Chicago, 3 hours late. Its a long day. But thats the job. You are a systems manager, and sometimes, youre a first responder.
