Netflix continues its trend of casting recognizable actors and setting up a compelling premise only to have it all fall to bits in act three with The Woman in Cabin 10. A predictable twist followed by absolute lunacy that could have easily come from a high school creative writing class’ think group. Yet I still watched to the end. Why? I believe Netflix is experimenting with some sort of algorithmic writing that keeps you hooked on for just long enough that the sunk cost fallacy takes hold and you’re forced to complete the stream. “If we can get them to within 22 minutes of the ending, they just let it play.” It’s a psyop prove me wrong.
