just to clarify this @balajis.eth, im an iranian girl, this video is from a street where a group of people gathered, the reality in iran is nowhere near like this, it’s kind of coordinated to show that the iranian regime doesn’t interfere with people over hijab, which is a big lie on social media, the truth is, many restaurants are being closed because of improper hijab these days, morality police cars are on the streets and aggressively targeting women, cars get impounded because of drivers bad hijab, as long as this regime exists, freedom of dress in iran won’t become normal these videos that sometimes go viral are actually just short gatherings of a few minutes, the punishment for such behavior in iran is usually fines & jail in the islamic republic, and according to what social media portrays, a woman is considered improperly veiled if her hair is visible, if she’s not wearing a headscarf, if the scarf is only on her shoulders, or if it’s pulled too far back, even before the iran & israel war, all city cameras in iran were equipped with facial recognition, and sms notifications about hijab violations were sent to occupants, who could then be prosecuted, and cars would be impounded, after the war, out of fear that israel might have used the cameras to track military leaders targeted by israel, the cameras were disabled, no bank or institution provides services to women without proper hijab, and many shopkeepers, fearing the closure of their stores, do not allow women with improper hijab inside https://x.com/balajis/status/1982098124488536336?s=46
